Feb. 15, 2024 — Ten high school students from Kansas, Missouri and Texas have been awarded the Koch Scholarship at 鶹ƽ State University, starting in the fall 2024 semester. Each scholar each will be awarded $30,000 to attend WSU over four years.

Feb. 13, 2024 — The College of Engineering at 鶹ƽ State University is hosting a public 5k run/walk that is open to students, staff, faculty and community members. The 5k will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 on the WSU campus. Registration proceeds from the 5k will go toward the College of Engineering Needs-Based Scholarship Fund.

Feb. 8, 2024 — 鶹ƽ State University is joining more than 200 of the nation’s leading artificial intelligence (AI) stakeholders to participate in a Department of Commerce initiative to support the development and deployment of trustworthy and safe AI.

Feb. 1, 2024 — 鶹ƽ State University has selected the 2024 recipients of the Harry Gore Memorial Scholarships. Each student will receive a $64,000 scholarship to attend 鶹ƽ State University starting in August 2024.

Feb. 1, 2024 — The College of Engineering at 鶹ƽ State University is hosting an Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED) event, commonly known as Girl Day, for high school girls from 鶹ƽ and the surrounding area.

Jan. 22, 2024 — The FirePoint Innovations Center at 鶹ƽ State University announced it has been selected to deliver Defense Innovation OnRamp Hub programming for the National Security Innovation Network through the newly established Great Plains Mission Acceleration Center, an innovation and collaboration hub designed to connect small businesses, academia and the Department of Defense to support defense-focused technology development.

Jan. 19, 2024 - Phase One of the 鶹ƽ Biomedical Campus being built in the heart of downtown 鶹ƽ now has its official look. The joint health sciences project between 鶹ƽ State University and the University of Kansas will bring about remarkable opportunities for collaboration, innovation and research.

Jan. 8, 2024 - 鶹ƽ State University moved to No. 2 on the national list of industry-funded engineering and research and development, according to the latest data compiled by the National Science Foundation’s Higher Education Research and Development Survey.

Dec. 18, 2023 - 鶹ƽ State University will lead a three-year project to assist NASA’s manufacturing paradigm shift from “factories on earth” to “factories in space.”

Brittany Wojciechowski

Dec. 05, 2023 Brittany Wojciechowski is currently working for Jacobs Space Exploration Group doing contract work for the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. She was also a featured guest in the May 2023 episode of President Rick Muma’s “Forward Together” podcast. While at WSU, Brittany conducted numerous research projects, including as part of the AeroFeathers team. She will receive her Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering this fall as a first-gen student.

Nov. 29, 2023 — The first carrier-neutral Internet Exchange Point (IXP) in Kansas is slated to be located at 鶹ƽ State University, improving internet access, affordability and speed for WSU, Innovation Campus and Shocker Neighborhood users and for users across much of Kansas.

Oct. 11, 2023 鶹ƽ State University and Knowmadics are entering into a new collaboration aimed at enhancing the security, and resiliency of satellite constellations and satellite-based communications. The endeavor is intended to strengthen the security of data collection and transfer among space-based Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
