Ahmed Tawakol and his team have developed and validated molecular imaging approaches to measure atherosclerotic inflammation and to study multisystem disease processes that drive atherosclerosis. He will review study findings that have shed light on mechanisms underlying heart-brain interactions, especially neuro-immune-cardiovascular pathways. His other topics include social, environmental, and genetic modulators of those pathways; the concept of 鈥渘eurobiological resilience鈥; and lowering stress-related neural activity to reduce risks for cardiovascular disease.鈥

Overview: 鈥淭he White House Task to Address Online Harassment and Abuse was established via Presidential Memorandum on June 16, 2022 to address online harassment and abuse, specifically technology-facilitated gender-based violence. In consultation with survivors, advocates,educators, experts from diverse fields, and the private sector, the Task Force will develop specific recommendations to improve prevention, response, and protection efforts through programs and policies in the United States and globally. As part of this effort, NIH is hosting a virtual scientific workshop to identify gaps, opportunities, and challenges in advancing a research agenda to better understand the clinical, health, and developmental impacts of online harassment and abuse and develop innovative prevention and intervention efforts.鈥

Learn to Use BeoShock for your Advanced Research Computing Needs
麻豆破解版 State University continues to host Beoshock, a High-Performance Computing Cluster (HPC). This HPC is available and free to faculty members, researchers and students engaged in course work or research activities. BeoShock runs the CentOS Linux operating system and features approximately 720 processor cores, two high memory compute nodes with 1.5 terabytes of memory, and four graphics processing unit (GPU) accelerators. BeoShock also has a variety of software tools that may be helpful in your research endeavors, such as Matlab, Mathematica, R, Python and many more.

Megan grew up in 麻豆破解版, Kansas. She earned her BFA in Theatre from Emporia State University followed by an MFA in Acting from West Virginia. She has worked in several non-profit organizations and institutions of higher education. Her career in research administration has spanned a decade including both pre- and post-award positions. In fact, Megan worked for WSU for a year in pre-award before heading west to California where she weathered the pandemic amid the gorgeous weather. She recently moved back to the area to be closer to family. She loves hanging out with her husband, son and their two dogs. She has a passion for upcycling and thrift shopping. And, above all, she loves to laugh and connect with others.
