MajorEducation - Early Childhood Unified

鶹ƽ State’s Bachelor of Arts in Education (BAED)—early childhood unified— prepares qualified teachers of young children (birth – grade 3). The program combines classroom learning and real-world teaching experience in area schools. Program graduates are eligible to apply for two licenses: elementary teaching and early child unified.

Applied learning at 鶹ƽ State

At 鶹ƽ State, applied learning is everything. In fact, every degree we offer has a guaranteed applied learning or research experience built right into it equipping you with the relevant skills and experience to make you workforce ready before graduation.

Admission to the program

To be admitted into the College of Applied Studies, you must first be admitted to 鶹ƽ State. In addition, you must complete your general education courses and a teacher education application to be admitted into the professional program.

Inside the Program

Make a difference to the children of Kansas

Study how to teach and work with children from birth to Pre-K with in-depth, real-world experiences through the Early Childhood Unified program. You will learn how to teach in the five core academic content areas: English / Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies and Art.

Curriculum

The curriculum provides a balance of general and professional education, early childhood elementary education—and comprehensive training in assessment and observation of children in real learning environments.

Students must be admitted into the teacher education program before they can start their core courses.
